Espresso Martini Mocktails

This mocktail doesn’t try to be as substitute. It stands on its own.

It has the bitterness of espresso, the richness of coffee, and the ceremony of a proper cocktail. It feels grown-up, thoughtful, and unfussy. Exactly the kind of drink that fits into real life.

Perfect for hosting, for dry months, or for anyone who wants to something special to sip.

What You’ll Need (Makes 4)

Tools

Ingredients

  • 180 ml freshly brewed espresso, cooled

  • 120 ml strong cold brew or chilled coffee

  • 60 ml simple syrup or maple syrup

  • 40 ml coffee-flavoured non-alcoholic spirit or coffee concentrate (optional, see note)

  • Ice

To finish:

  • Coffee beans (optional)

How to Make It

Chill your glasses
Place four coupe or martini glasses in the freezer for a few minutes. It’s a small step that makes a difference.

Shake
Add espresso, cold brew, syrup, optional non-alcoholic spirit, and a generous amount of ice to a shaker. If your shaker is small, work in batches. Shake hard for 15–20 seconds to build foam.

Strain
Strain evenly into the chilled glasses. A light, creamy foam should settle on top.

Finish
Garnish with a few coffee beans, if using. Serve right away.

Notes

No non-alcoholic spirit?
You can skip it entirely. The drink will still be balanced and coffee-forward.

Sweetness to taste
Start with 45 ml syrup if you prefer it less sweet, and adjust next time.

Foam comes from shaking
Don’t hold back. A proper shake is what gives this drink its texture. Bonus: mini arm workout!
